在新冠疫情防控的大环境下,投资者通过线上调研补位实地调研,线上调研与实地调研相比是否具有独特价值?文章从企业全要素生产率视角,考察了投资者线上调研的经济后果,并研究了其独特作用机制。研究表明:(1)线上调研能够显著促进企业全要素生产率提升;(2)“信息成本与效率效应”以及“无形信息效应”是线上调研促进企业全要素生产率提升的中介机制;(3)线上调研与实地调研相辅相成,能够发挥“信息互补效应”。拓展性研究表明:(1)当互联网技术水平较高,或者投资者调研时的天气条件比较恶劣时,线上调研能够发挥更大作用;(2)当企业的无形资产占比或研发密集度较高、信息透明度较低、融资约束较严重或代理成本较高时,线上调研能够发挥更大作用;(3)当线上调研的具体方式为线上会议而不是网络平台互动时,线上调研能够发挥更大作用;(4)线上调研作用的发挥不受社会关系的影响。文章的研究揭示了线上调研与实地调研相比所具有的独特价值,对于指导后疫情时代资本市场的信息交流具有一定意义。
