中国本土企业的管理实践正在得到国内外学术界的广泛关注,与之相关的本土管理研究的重要性也日益凸显。然而,当前学术界依然存在一些质疑本土管理研究目的和价值的观点,例如:本土研究是否就是区域研究?为什么管理研究需要本土化理论?为什么本土研究可以贡献普适性理论?这些观点削弱了学术界对本土研究意义的认识,妨碍着本土管理研究的进一步发展。本文结合“中国企业本土视角下的组织变革与领导行为”国际研讨会的嘉宾演讲和观点讨论,运用已有本土管理研究的一些成功范例,对以上质疑观点进行了辨析和澄清,阐述了本土管理研究的性质、特点、面临的困难等。最后,本文对进一步发展本土管理研究提出了建议,例如:扎根本土情境寻求有意义的研究问题,遵循入世治学精神,选择适合的研究方法和策略,辩证地看待文化思维对理论开发的影响,积极开展本土与主流理论之间的对话,建立本土研究的学术社区。
