3964多中心空间结构是提高要素流动效率的基础，提高要素流动效率是提振民营经济活力的关键。在此背景下，文章利用LandScan全球人口分布高分辨率数据集构造城市多中心空间结构指标，借助2001—2022年城市-行业-年份层面民营企业工商注册数据构造民营经济活力指标，结合人口普查、专利转让和异地投资数据构建的劳动力、技术和资本跨市流动指标，考察城市多中心空间结构对民营经济活力的影响及其作用机制。研究发现，城市多中心空间结构有利于提振民营经济活力，体现在城市多中心度和多中心数增加了民营企业增量和存量，并且这种促进作用存在中心外围、内陆沿海和城市群内外异质性。机制检验表明，城市多中心空间结构通过吸引外市人口流入、技术转入和资本进入，提振民营经济活力。进一步考察发现，多中心空间结构对市场化环境更好、信用环境更优和用工就业环境更稳定城市的民营经济活力提振作用更强。研究结论表明，现阶段多中心空间结构的城市发展模式有助于缓解集聚不经济问题，推动民营经济发展。
